Environment Day in Bützfleth
AOS apprentices show great commitment at Bützfleth Environment Day
The annual Environment Day in Bützfleth took place on Saturday, 11 April 2026. Once again, AOS took part with a large group of apprentices and their trainers.
Equipped with litter pickers, rubbish bags and gloves, the team thoroughly cleared the area along Industriestraße of litter, from the Dow turn-off on the L111 to the harbour and the AOS gatehouse. Alongside countless smaller items, the finds ranged from an exhaust pipe and shoes to bags full of rubbish that had simply been dumped in the roadside ditch. It is hard to believe how much rubbish is simply discarded along the access roads to the industrial area, and it is good that we take care of it ourselves rather than leaving local residents to deal with it alone. Managing Director Hartmut Borchers also took part and highlighted the importance of this commitment. He emphasised once again how important it is to AOS to actively maintain good neighbourly relations with the village of Bützfleth. Special thanks go to the organisers from the village, the Bützfleth residents’ association (Bürgerverein Bützfleth) and, of course, everyone else involved for their hard work.
